As my composer friend, Bonnie, used to say: It seems that women tend to write music in a circular form, because of their ovaries.

Maybe the NY Times Lipstick Columns will help women composers and women musicians channel their hysterics into beautiful, nurturing music, in circular form.

(Bonnie was joking, just to be clear. It was in response to a (male) composer discussing his preference for "feminine intervals" like minor thirds and major sevenths.)
