Gil Shaham Ambushed With Avery Fisher Prize
Just as the violinist was finishing up a recital - being filmed by PBS for Live From Lincoln Center - conductor Gustavo Dudamel appeared in the audience and told Shaham and the crowd (and the TV viewers) that he had won the $75,000 award. Associated Press 11/20/08
