Conversations to come
I'm just digging out from a wonderful time in Milwaukee, participating in the Americans for the Arts convention. More thoughts and comments coming soon. But it was a real pleasure sharing the stage with the little improvisational ''think tank'' assembled by Barry Hessenius -- including me along with:
- Bob Lynch, President and CEO of Americans for the Arts
- Barry Hessenius, arts consultant and blogger
- Cora Mirikitani, CEO of the Center for Cultural Innovation
- Nancy Glaze, Arts Program Director of The David & Lucile Packard Foundation
- Cuong Hoang, Director of Programs at Philanthropic Advisors, LLC, and
- Anthony Radich, Executive Director of the Western States Arts Federation
Barry has promised a full report on the session (Neill Roan has already posted a short summary report), and there may be an audio file in the works. In the meantime, thanks to Barry and Americans for the Arts for inviting me. I hope it's the beginning of many productive conversations to come.

I have to say as sound bites go, those of yours that Neill quotes pack a whole lot of accurate observation in a very little space. I especially liked the first one regarding the current system and societal behavior being out of sync.
