TT: Behind the scenes

Bill Evans, the most influential jazz pianist of the postwar era, would have turned eighty on Sunday. In honor of that anniversary, Marc Myers has just posted the first installment of a five-part interview with Laurie Verchomin, who was Evans' lover during the last year and a half of his life.
